Built in 1886, the Orizaba Gold Mine is the only mine in Maricopa County with its own smelter. The ore was carted by horse or mule to the smelter, crushed, and heated. Intense heat creates molten ore, which is poured into large steel pots. Most of the ore in Arizona was shipped b railway to New Mexico and Texas. Come experience the Old West in a new way!

This tour includes water, soda, snacks, gold mine entry fee, and photo CD.
